85 - Wii? Oui.

Jason Arriola, John Lucero, and Franky Ordaz have been playing some stuff. John with the timely stuff like Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus and Super Mario Odyssey, Jason, with a sort of timely stuff with Wulverblade, and Franky laments not having played Super Mario Odyssey but instead tells us about The Flame in the Flood. Jason tries to take advantage of a pricing error on Shadow of War on air (and fails), we lament (?) Visceral Games closing, and someone may have gotten a little more than bothered about the whole NeoGAF thing.

We're going back to Metal Gear Solid for the GAJ Game Club, but this time, it's a smaller version. Jason Arriola and JoeStar played the Metal Gear Solid: Ghost Babel for the Game Boy Color. It's a definite odd choice for a Metal Gear Solid game, but one that keeps the spirit of the older entries in the series as well as taking account some of the (then) modern touches.

Once again, I sprinkled music from the game throughout the episode. It's definitely running on Game Boy hardware, but the game features some surprisingly strong tracks.

And of course, or intro song was made by Visager!

84 - After Golf Story

Jason Arriola and John Lucero have a lot of ground to cover since they last podcasted together. Evil Within 2Golf Story, Jason's purchases, Cuphead sells a million, loot boxes, Blade Runner 2049, and the second season of Attack on Titan get more than a strafing run. There's extra music in this one to help take the sting out of how much Jason didn't like Golf Story and his less-than-sympathetic view on loot boxes.

You knew it had to happen, so we're proud to present the latest GAJ Game Club that brings back Life is Strange! John Lucero and Brittany Beshel talk about their experiences with the first of the three episodes of Before the Storm and somehow manage to briefly bring up both Metal Gear Solid and David Cage.

83 - Three Woofs Out Of Ten

Jason Arriola is joined by John Lucero and Franky Ordaz to talk about the Destiny 2 (again), Tokyo Game Show, and... well... sometimes we say things we don't quite mean.

Our next Game Clubs are Metal Gear Solid: Ghost Babel and the first episode of Life is Strange: Before the Storm, so if you have any thoughts, drop us a line in the comments or on Facebook or Twitter!

82 - Mario’s A Never Nude

Jason Arriola is joined by  John Lucero and Luke Maxwell to talk about the Dragon Ball FighterZ beta, Dragon Quest XI, and Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana. The generation of ports continues, PewDiePie should probably shut his piehole, and there was a ton of Nintendo Direct stuff to go over.

Next week is the Metal Gear Solid: Ghost Babel game club, so if you have any thoughts, drop us a line in the comments or on Facebook or Twitter!

81 - Pizza Orgy

Jason Arriola is joined by John Lucero  for some Destiny 2 (someone's gotta do the shooter heavy lifting around here) and Franky Ordaz for No Man's Sky talks. Brother, can you spare some ports? How about L.A. Noire, Okami, Vanquish, both Shenmue games, and Bayonetta? The Switch hits 1.5 million in sales in Japan and Stephen King used to be really fucking weird.

80 - Why Is She Lachrymose?

Jason Arriola might be head over heels for Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana and  John Lucero  is a bit apathetic about the Gundam Versus beta. New Borderlands game might be in the works, new Nightmare Creatures game is definitely in the works, Wii U getting another nail in the coffin, Puzzle Fighter on mobile, Resident Evil 7's getting its DLC wrapped up along with a Gold Edition in December, Blossom Tales: The Sleeping King is coming to the Switch, and a bunch of other Nindies! And we run down the veritable pile of games Jason's bought in the last few weeks.

79 - Sacrifice For My Art

Jason Arriola and John Lucero stumble back into this podcast thing after the marathon Metal Gear Solid Game Club. John's been having fun with Call of Duty: WWII's beta and XCOM 2 while Jason's been having less fun with Uncharted: Lost Legacy and Observer. A quick pitstop in Westeros as they talk a bit about the latest season of Game of Thrones and end up talking about basketball in the middle of the news section.

Our Game Club is back and it's better (and longer) than ever! Jason Arriola and John Lucero are joined by Conor Mahood of The Movie Express podcast, and JoeStar to dig deep on the Playstation classic, Metal Gear Solid. As hard as it is to believe, Metal Gear Solid is nearing 20 years old and that largely prompted us to dive into it. This game did so much more than set the stage for the rest of the series. It introduced the world at large to Hideo Kojima and kicked off the trend of games going for a cinematic approach. This is a long one, but well worth the time spent in this once in a lifetime game.

If you're interested in following Conor's work outside of here, he's one part of aforementioned The Movie Express (the other part being podcast regular Luke Maxwell). You should also check out both of his novels, The Hanged Man and Somebody Else's Dream.

I included a bunch of music from the game throughout. Aside from that, here's the rest of the included stuff!
